My bank mystifies me

So I went to the bank to deposit my unemployment check, and the teller asked me if anyone told me that I was pre-approved for a visa platinum card.  I must have looked a complete retard as I stood there slack-jawed staring at her, so the teller repeated her question slower.  This caused my brain to go into further internal conniption fits as I tried to digest this.  Apparently, unemployed retards are pre-approved for credit here in the good ol' US of A.  Does anyone still question why our economy popped like a condom in a porcupine orgy?
